Sealer Colors:
When a customer wants to retain the natural wood grain of the wood, Pro Coat will clean the wood if required, then apply one coat of a penetrating oil base sealer. Sealer is used whenever possible to achieve the best protection and transparency enhancing the natural grain of the wood. These sealers penetrate deep into the cells of the wood helping to prevent damage from natures elements. Sealers help prevent damage from U.V. rays and moisture that expands and contract wood, tearing apart wood fiber. These sealers contain transparent iron oxide pigments which is a strong absorber of UV radiation, providing protection to the wood substrate. Sealer allows ease of maintenance for future applications and keeping the natural beauty of the wood.
Keep in mind that all wood accepts sealer and stain differently. No two jobs that use the same product will look the same, no two boards will look the same. Wood color is affected by: age of the wood, porosity, wood grain, length of growth cycle, residual products, region of growth, etc. The colors of your computer screen may also affect the colors you see. We can provide samples upon request.
Solid Color Stains:
When a solid color stain is requested or required Pro Coat first cleans the wood, then applies a coat of environmentally friendly solid color water-borne stain. Water-borne stain is very durable on both vertical and horizontal surfaces. This coating will provide a layer of protection against natures harsh elements. It has the technology to adhere to raw wood or stable existing stain without a primer. One coat is usually recommended, even on a white fence. This stain is available in unlimited color selection. Samples are available upon request. |
